Introducing BFF of America

Introduction
Welcome to BFF of America! We're on a mission to give every student the tools they need to take control of their financial future.
Founded by driven high school students who saw a gap in how personal finance is taught (or not taught) in schools, BFF of America was born out of the belief that every teen deserves to understand money, including how to earn it, spend it, save it, and grow it. BFF is making personal finance education more accessible, engaging, and relatable than ever before.
What We Do
We currently offer our flagship program, BFF Academy, to students. BFF Academy is a free, 4-week course designed to help middle and high school students build foundational knowledge in personal finance. Through weekly live sessions, interactive lessons, activities, and quizzes, students learn:
How to earn income and understand a paycheck
How to budget, save, and invest
How to avoid credit traps and manage debt
How to plan for big financial goals
And many more topics!
We’ve created our own curriculum from the ground up. Unlike other programs, we don't just give boring lectures, but instead offer something students will actually enjoy. Our slides, activities, and lesson plans were designed by students, for students, and are specifically made to engage students throughout the entire learning process.
Why We Exist
Right now, only 23 states in the U.S. require personal finance to graduate high school. To put it simply, that’s not good enough.
We believe the path to financial freedom should start early. By teaching students before they begin to make large financial decisions, we’re helping them to avoid common financial mistakes.
Who We Are
BFF of America was founded by Toby Qin and Liam Griffin. Toby focuses on curriculum development and instruction, while Liam leads outreach and engagement. Together with a growing team of volunteer tutors, business professionals, and corporate partnerships, we plan to bring personal finance education to more than 1,000+ students by the end of the year.
How You Can Get Involved
We’re always looking for passionate high schoolers to join as volunteer tutors. We're also looking for business professionals to sit on our advisory board to plan for the future of BFF, and corporate partnerships to bring BFF to the most students possible. Follow us on Instagram to stay in the loop.
